Invisible Life in Plant Vestiges, 2014 - 2015

This set of works explores the notions of multiverse and supernaturalism, and looks at the invisibilities in existence and beyond physical death. Dead plant materials appeared to be living and interacting with the images. Psychedelic patterns and colours revealed in photograph taken at night suggested perhaps there were existing phenomena that were beyond our scope of visual perception and scientific understanding. Images of dead shrubs were painted on wooden panels to serve as visual counterpoints to the natural wood grain - a record of growth and life by nature, and examined ideas of human intervention, reality, representation, memory and natural history. There also seemed to be an invisible life force hidden in the dead plant images waiting for the right conditions to magically appear again.
